Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor

The role of Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor is working oversight for Continental Plastic's (CPC) maintenance and facility work areas to drive profitability and achieve organizational KPI's and strategic objectives. This includes managing the upkeep of all manufacturing, facility, and grounds assets, supervising maintenance resources and staff, assisting in the design and installation of new systems. Under the guidance of the Director - Operations, responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and maintain facility assets, parts inventory, purchase orders, invoice approvals, inspections, maintenance work orders, and work area budgets.
  • Plan, coordinate, and provide hands-on oversight of maintenance/facility projects including routine repairs, forecasting equipment needs, reliability issues, developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs, making recommendations for equipment and processes.
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on equipment including: HVAC, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, power generators; exhaust systems; mechanical motion control; irrigation systems; dock door operations systems and building structures including: roofs; gutters; doors; drywall; flooring; painting and grounds including: parking surfaces; sidewalks; drainage; landscaping.
  • Work with purchasing regarding outside vendors for supplies, repairs, landscaping, snow removal, custodial needs, and other measures.
  • Maintain supplies storage and stock and parts levels, storage, and distribution processes.
  • Maintain files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and assist with energy management.
  • Ensure operational efficiency of all equipment and mechanical systems through timely inspection/repair.
  • Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in clean and hygienic condition.
  • Maintain direct authority of assigned area including decision-making, staffing, talent management and general direction matters, with the general consult of leadership and HR. Provide training to staff for day-to-day tasks, as well as onboarding and competency.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  1. Education, training, and experience equivalent to an associates degree in industrial maintenance, business, or similar field with a minimum of 5 years of leadership/supervision and working knowledge in facilities and equipment maintenance and supervision in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and HVAC systems along with equipment reliability and preventative maintenance programs.
  3. Must possess a working knowledge and understanding of the principles and methods involved in manufacturing maintenance processes, local building codes and government regulations, agency rules involved in areas of licensure, applicable safety and OSHA requirements, and other environmental regulations.
  4. Must have or be able to attain forklift and aerial licensure.
  5. Must possess the ability to build positive team relationships and achieve outcome-oriented objectives; working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN Enterprise) with a holistic viewpoint; ability to work in a fast-paced environment, setting priorities and managing time effectively.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as Epicor CMS, with strong communication, problem-solving, project management, and team leadership skills in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
